Directly below the cliffs of Bwlch-y-Moch, Tremadog, Nr Portmadog, North Wales LL49 9SN and almost opposite the infamous ‘Eric’s Café’.
The Hut is at the base of one of the UK’s premier rock climbing venues. Being situated in the Snowdonia National Park it offers convenient accommodation for and access to all of the mountains and coastline of North and Mid Wales.
The stone building, built we believe in the late 1800s, used to be a cow shed and dairy! It has now been converted and consists of ‘bunkhouse’ style accommodation sleeping 14 people when booked independently and 21 with the club dormitory.
The hut was renovated during 2014 and 2015 following a successful Sport England grant application, and consists of:
We also have a very effective drying room to combat the worst of the Welsh weather.
Work has started on the car park to accommodate more cars. Additional parking can be arranged with Gareth and Jo, the owners of ‘Eric’s Café’, to use their car park for a small fee.
Besides being made available for group bookings to other organisations, the Hut is also available to prospective BRMC Members on a trial basis when accompanied by an existing BRMC Member free of charge for the first visit. Upon becoming a BRMC Member you are free to use our hut whenever you wish and as a base for whatever activity you choose.
BRMC Members are welcome to use the hut for £7 per person per night. Guests can accompany BRMC Members at a rate of £10 per person per night. If you wish to book the hut for longer or as a training facility, please contact our Hut Secretary.
That’s fine. The club exists to foster an appreciation of the mountain environment. Check out the Hut Calendar for availability. For further details, cost and booking please contact the Hut Secretary.
